The Decline: The Geography of a Recession by LaToya Egwuekwe (OFFICIAL)

Animated Unemployment Map 2007 - 2009 (html)

After YEARS of crap, it is all coming to a head.  It is not one party's/president/the banks/corporations/etc fault.  We collectively let our guard down as a nation and the situation has many roots. So here we are.

I still believe in the American spirit, and "necessity is the mother of invention."  Expecting and feeling entitled to handouts and waiting for some one else to fix the problems is not what what we are all about.  We are NOT a welfare nation, nor do I believe the gov't bailouts/stimulus/etc is the answer. The POTUS and congress are not our Saviors - they can't be nor should we expect them to be.  We are too flipping divided right now for them to be able to truly represent us anyway.

Reignite the entrepreneurial spirit that made our nation great. Fight to retain that.  Fight to retain the might of the individual and how important every job is.  Fight to save our small businesses which are the backbone of the country.  Foster the "do not give up," "learn from failure" that in our selves and our children, and refuse to let some one else take your voice away.  Focusing on the negative (which I have been guilty of)  just keeps dividing us, not uniting.  Start the fight to save your family and community.  It really is "darkest before the dawn." This should be the fire that ignites us, and wakes us up.  It does "take a village" to save a nation.  We can do this, we can find a way.
